MANUPAC, the Manufacturers Association of Central New York’s Federal Political Action Committee today announced their bipartisan list of federal candidate endorsements for the 2024 General Election. MANUPAC board members looked to endorse pro-manufacturing candidates from districts throughout New York State, focusing their attention on key issues to include tax reform, energy availability and production, trade issues, and workforce development.

Chair Pat Morocco stated, “We reviewed the responses and voting records of the individuals to determine who we believe are the most pro-manufacturing candidates. We evaluated their understanding and readiness to work on the issues impacting manufacturers throughout our region and state. Though we often do not agree with candidates on every issue, we understand that it is critical for candidates to support manufacturing policy initiatives and remain open to communication with us and the manufacturing sector. We offer our support to candidates who we think will best serve our sector’s interests. We look forward to working with all members elected to office this November.”

Based on responses from the 2024 MANUPAC Candidate Questionnaire and ongoing meetings and interactions with candidates, MANUPAC is endorsing in on the following federal races:

U.S. Senate Endorsements

  • Kirsten Gillibrand (D) (WF)

U.S. House of Representative Endorsements

  • Claudia Tenney (R) (C) NY-24 District
  • Elise Stefanik (R) (C) NY-21 District
  • Marc Molinaro (R) (C) NY-19 District

NY-22 District

Based on the review and evaluation of the candidates’ questionnaires and additional information, MANUPAC board members agree that both candidates seeking the NY-22 Congressional seat have demonstrated a desire to work productively and collaboratively to advance a pro-manufacturing agenda in the state.

As the incumbent congressman, Brandon Williams listened to and worked with manufacturers on various issues to include tax policy, national security, and supply chains.  In his current role as a state Senator, John Mannion has championed the Manufacturers Intermediary Apprenticeship Program funding and expansion and tax parity for all sized manufacturers in the state.

Therefore, MANUPAC is providing Brandon Williams (R) and John Mannion (D) with the pro-manufacturing seal of approval, and members look forward to working with the candidate who is elected to the office this November.
