The Central New York region has received the green light for a Phase Two Reopening. Other regions approved for Phase Two Reopening include the Finger Lakes, North Country, Southern Tier, and Mohawk Valley.
Phase Two Includes the Following Industries:
- Offices
- Real Estate
- Essential and Phase 2 In-Store Retail
- Vehicle Sales, Leases, and Rentals
- Retail Rental, Repair, and Cleaning
- Commercial Building Management
- Hair Salons and Barbershops
That means businesses in the above-mentioned industries in Onondaga, Oswego, Cortland, Cayuga, and Madison counties will need to go to the New York Forward website to review the state’s reopening guidelines and to affirm business compliance with the New York Forward reopening guidance.
The guidelines apply to both non-essential businesses in regions that are permitted to re-open and essential businesses that were previously permitted to remain open.
In addition, each re-opening business must develop a written Safety Plan outlining how its workplace will prevent the spread of COVID-19. The plan does not need to be submitted to a state agency for approval but must be retained on premises. Industry-specific safety plan templates can be found by clicking here.
