MIPAC Announces 2022 Senate and Assembly Legislative Endorsements
Statewide Manufacturing Association’s Political Action Committee Releases Endorsement of Candidates
MIPAC, The Manufacturing & Industry Political Action Committee of MACNY, The Manufacturers Association, and the Manufacturers Alliance of New York, today announced their 2022 candidate endorsements.
This year, MIPAC looked to endorse pro-manufacturing, reform-minded candidates from selected areas throughout New York State. MIPAC focused their process this year on several factors. With Incumbent candidates, MIPAC sought support for those who have provided our membership and sector with legislative support, advocated for our Statewide workforce and training efforts, and regularly engaged with our member companies. The MIPAC board took into consideration candidate positions on key issues including strengthening the State’s workforce development platform, supporting a corporate tax elimination for pass- through manufacturers, addressing energy costs and energy availability, and assisting businesses recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
MIPAC Chairman Dean Burrows stated, “Our decisions this year were driven by a number of policy concerns to include the costly and burdensome areas such as regulatory reform, a corporate tax elimination for pass-through manufacturers, addressing high energy costs, and addressing the growing workforce and training gaps that directly impact our sector’s ability to grow.”
Burrows added, “Based on our long history of advocating for the New York State manufacturing sector, MIPAC has always maintained an understanding that we will not always agree with our representatives on every single issue. What we find most critical in our Albany representation and endorsement process is that lines of communication always remain open and that good policy and open government remain priorities first and foremost to those candidates we support. On behalf of MIPAC, we are pleased to announce our 2022 endorsed candidates, and look forward to working with all those elected to office in the next legislative session.”
