The Department of Defense has awarded Inficon of DeWitt a five-year contract worth up to $45 million to supply medical equipment to the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

As manufacturers around the world look for ways to make products that support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, National Grid has found a way to support companies across New York who are joining those efforts. As an example, Cohoes-based high tech manufacturer Precision Valve and Automation, or PVA, is receiving National Grid support to produce critical equipment for healthcare workers and patients.

Tessy Plastics will hire 200 people and turn a warehouse in Auburn into a high-tech manufacturing center in just 15 weeks for the production of five-minute coronavirus test kits that could play a vital role in getting the nation back to work.

Recently engineers and associates at The Raymond Corporation, a member of the Manufacturers Association of CNY, have begun to print 3D face shields to provide doctors, nurses and first responders with PPE equipment which is critically needed at this time. Once completed, The Raymond Corporation will be supplying more than 2,000 face shields to essential local healthcare workers.
