A special opportunity to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers in CNY.

On February 2, 2018, Central New York will participate in the regions second CNY STEM Job Shadow Day, facilitated by Partners for Education & Business. Over 300 high school students from the area are invited to visit local STEM companies to shadow professionals, observing and assisting them with their work. Job shadowing provides young people with a firsthand look at the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the workplace. Through this experience young people get the opportunity to explore careers and make the connection between the classroom and the “real world.”

Individual hosts benefit from the satisfaction that comes with mentoring a young person and introducing them to a new career. Hosting reinforces the link between academic performance and career attainment. It also provides an opportunity to screen potential student applications for summer internship opportunities.

How to register to be a Host company

Host companies can register for the program anytime below.  Companies may “host” a small group  –
