NYS Manufacturing Positioned For An Exciting Future
Randy Wolken, President & CEO
This week we celebrated our 110th Annual Dinner. Nearly 500 individuals joined us. We have been serving manufacturers for over a century, and I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together!
I had a chance to discuss how New York State is once again a premier destination for the growing number of manufacturers who want to make the U.S. their home. Together, we have built an ecosystem that supports manufacturing excellence. High-tech, advanced manufacturing facilities fit right into our sweet spot. Micron’s recent commitment to build four chip fabs at an estimated cost of over $100 billion is just one example of our bright future ahead. MACNY and our members are committed to being partners so we can grow existing members and assist in attracting new manufacturers to New York. We are a part of creating an attractive 21st-century manufacturing landscape. It’s a promising time for manufacturing in New York State!
We were excited to honor two Wall of Fame inductees at this year’s 110th MACNY Annual Celebration of Manufacturing. This year, we were pleased to celebrate the lifetime achievements of Jackie Ferrari of The American Fashion Network and Mike Wetzel of Air Innovations. We also honored Brent Zerkle of Cryomech as our Innovator of the Year Award recipient. This award recognizes innovative individuals who are integral to a local manufacturing company’s success.
The past year has been one of incredible growth and achievement for MACNY, thanks to you, our engaged members. In fact, we had one of our best years ever. Our advocacy engagement efforts remain strong as we continue to be New York State’s most influential voice for manufacturing on the State and Federal levels. In addition, our popular training and service offerings have seen a boost in variety, participation, and delivery methods. This year, we provided over 200 in-person and virtual events, including training, councils, webinars, and our Signature Events. Also, our Manufacturers Intermediary Apprenticeship Program (MIAP) continues to be successful with our state-wide Alliance Partners and has been recognized nationally. These are just a few of our many achievements in the past year.
We have many new initiatives planned for the coming year. The team will continue to expand our services, help you fill open positions, enhance our training and apprenticeship offerings, and advocate for wise public policy that enables you to grow. We couldn’t be more excited to build upon our successes while working with you to create the future!
