Syracuse P-TECH student Garnet G. spent two weeks this Summer at Kilian Manufacturing, working under Manufacturing Manager Bob McCarthy, and learned how to use a 0-1″ micrometer, and optical comperator (pictured), chamfer, centering and drop/height gauges. He also measured various machined parts, entering the data into Excel. Garnet even created a gauging fixture in Inventor! He is one of 11 P-TECH high school juniors who participated in credit-bearing internships or paid employment over the summer.
