RANDY WOLKEN TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE CENTRAL NEW YORK REGIONAL CONTROL ROOM
The “regional control room” will monitor progress as certain industries reopen in CNY.

Syracuse, NY – CNY REDC Co-Chair and MACNY President & CEO Randy Wolken has been selected to serve with the Central New York Regional Control Room to help oversee the reopening of manufacturing in Central New York, which was today announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, New York State remains on PAUSE through May 15th. The state will reopen on a regional basis with each region having to meet the proper criteria to protect the public’s health. Phase One of this reopening of non-essential businesses includes manufacturing and wholesale supply chain, construction, retail (curbside pickup only) and agriculture, forestry and fishing. Essential businesses that are already open will remain open.

Mr. Wolken joins these other officials as a member of the Central New York Regional Control Room:

  • Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon
  • Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh
  • Ann Marie Taliercio, President of the Central New York Area Labor Federation
  • Oswego County Legislature Chairman James Weatherup

  • Cayuga County Legislature Chairwoman Aileen McNabb-Coleman
  • Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman John Becker

Randy Wolken is Co-Chair of the Regional Economic Development Council of Central New York. He also is President & CEO of the Manufacturers Association (MACNY), which serves more than 300 businesses and manufacturing companies in the region, and the Manufacturers Alliance of New York State that consists of seven Alliance Partners throughout the state.
